About

Therapeutic Recreation Group

Therapeutic Recreation Group (TRG) believes a strong community blended with outdoor activity will bring down the suicide rate amongst our veterans and first responders. The day to day grind can be exhausting, we’ve found and studies back up that when you can introduce like-minded people that share similar life experiences into an outdoor environment it allows that individual to decompress, many times allowing them to open up and begin the healing process. The outdoor events are great first step sometimes introducing something new & sometimes allowing them to re-live activities they once enjoyed, either way it’s great to see them plug in and for many it’s something they take home and continue to do. Our follow up program allows us to keep in touch, help our veterans track progress if they wish and continue to surround them with the support they need to achieve that functioning independence.
